ReelsFest is an overlay application on Windows that enables the consumption of short form content such as Instagram Reels on top of other applications or games. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how lockie.dev ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use ReelsFest and its services("ReelsFest"). Third-party accounts that you connect to ReelsFest like your Instagram account are referred to as "third party accounts" and third party services that you access in ReelsFest such as Instagram are referred to as "third party services".

By using ReelsFest, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information:

  • ReelsFest does not require you to create a dedicated account or provide personal information like your name, email address, or phone number. However, third party accounts like your Instagram account are required so that ReelsFest can fetch content from the corresponding third party services.

Automatically Collected Information:

  • Usage Data: We may collect information about how you interact with ReelsFest such as your usage pattern and what applications you use ReelsFest with

  • Device Information: We may collect information about the device ReelsFest runs on:

    • IP address - Used for identifying usage abuse
    • Operating system information, device identifiers, generating hardware information, display preferences, device preferences and settings such as default browser of choice - sent along crash logs and analytics to help improve ReelsFest, you can turn this off by right clicking on the ReelsFest tray icon, then Options
    • Runtime information such as the version of Microsoft WebView2 Runtime used by ReelsFest
    • General device information sent along Sentry crash logs

No Remote Access to Third Party Accounts:

  • Credentials of your third party accounts remain on your device and are never sent to us, they are solely used for interacting with third party services.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and improve the functionality.

  • Understand user engagement and improve user experience.

  • Analytics, performance analysis and security reports.

  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may share non-personal, aggregated, or anonymised data for purposes such as research, analytics, or improving our services - such Sentry for crash logs and analytics.

Credentials of your third party accounts are sent to the corresponding providers of the third party services so ReelsFest can access content on the platforms - for example, your Instagram account credentials are sent to Instagram so that ReelsFest can fetch Instagram Reels from your personalised feed.

4. Third-Party Content and Services

ReelsFest may display content hosted by third party services (e.g., Instagram). These third parties may have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. We encourage you to review their policies for more details.

ReelsFest uses Cloudflare for its backend services responsible for pushing the latest updates to the application without a full restart.

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

ReelsFest is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us, and we will promptly delete the data.

7. Your Choices

You can control app permissions (such as overlay permissions) at any time through your device settings. Disabling certain permissions may affect your ability to use some features of ReelsFest.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the date on this page and, if necessary, providing additional notice within ReelsFest or through other reasonable means.

Your continued use of ReelsFest after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
